Donnie Boutwell, CEO

After ten years producing records on music row in Nashville, Donnie knows a thing or two about sound.   With experience in construction management, and digital music, Donnie came to Media Systems with a desire to create audiophile listening rooms in luxury homes. Today he spends his time managing business operations with Jaclyn and the leadership team. Donnie has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston in Radio and Television Production with a minor in Percussion Performance. Our founder, Steve Driskell is Donnie’s Uncle. 

Jaclyn Boutwell, CFO

Jaclyn approaches her work at Media Systems from a background in artistic design and systematic propriety. As a professional photographer, she is the expert on anything to do with video and imagery. She is the detail person who keeps us all on task.  Jaclyn is our Chief Financial Officer, she works in design and sales, and is our Crestron shade expert.

Chase Murphy, CTO

Chase has been our friend since 2011 when we started contracting him for Crestron programming on larger projects.  Chase is a certified Crestron Master Programmer and has been Donnie’s programming mentor for years.  Since we had already worked with him on so many projects, his transition to full time staff was effortless. Chase excels at communication.  His ability to define the scope of work, exceed expectations, and finish the job are a great example to our team. 

Derrick Hare, Project Manager

Donnie and Derrick became friends working on the same jobsite for a mutual friend.  We asked Derrick several times over the years to join the team and the timing just didn’t work out.  When he finally agreed to come on staff with us, it was a perfect fit.  Derrick didn’t ask for a position in leadership, but naturally landed at the top.  He is the hardest worker among us and won’t quit till the job is done.

Matthew Atwood, Service Manager

Matt came to the company with years of industry experience and a desire to be in leadership.  He is a tenacious problem solver and leaves no detail unattended.  Matthew masters all of our scheduling for service calls, returns and repairs, as well as assisting on new installs when he has time.  Whether he is on the service call or not, he knows every detail and supervises the service technicians till all issues are resolved.

Our Founder

Steve Driskell, Founder/Consultant

In his early years, Steve installed complicated control systems for grain elevator operators and other industrial machinery.  He had a background in automation systems before home automation had even been considered.  After working as a home theater designer and installer for Home Entertainment, Steve founded Media Systems in 1980 because he discovered a client base seeking higher end luxury audio and video systems.  He quickly created a niche for himself in Houston and around the world as a pioneer and true visionary of smart home technology.  As control system technology developed, Steve integrated cutting edge products for a distinguished client base.  Functional automation systems evolved into elegant products that can be enjoyed without really being seen.  Steve was at the forefront of that evolution.  Today we are still breaking ground with the same spirit to be the best in the business.
