Media Systems is a family-owned company built on relationships, craftsmanship, and long-term trust.
For more than four decades, we've worked alongside homeowners, architects, interior designers, and builders to design technology systems that enhance the experience of home without disrupting its design. Today the company is led by husband-and-wife team Donnie and Jaclyn Boutwell, whose combined experience bridges technical expertise, construction knowledge, and a deep appreciation for thoughtful design.
Donnie Boutwell
Donnie Boutwell has spent his career at the intersection of media, construction, and technology. With a background in media production and construction management, Donnie brings both creative and technical perspective to every project. He works closely with architects, builders, and design teams to ensure that technology is engineered properly from the earliest stages of a home's design. His focus is simple: systems should perform flawlessly, remain reliable for decades, and integrate seamlessly into the architecture of the home.
Jaclyn Boutwell
Jaclyn Boutwell brings a design-forward perspective to every Media Systems project.
Working closely with homeowners and interior designers, she helps ensure that technology choices support the aesthetic vision of the home while still delivering exceptional performance and ease of use. Her role bridges the technical and design worlds, helping clients feel confident that technology will enhance — not complicate — their living spaces. Jaclyn also leads client experience and business operations, ensuring that every project reflects the level of care and attention to detail Media Systems is known for.
Together with their team of designers, programmers, and technicians, Donnie and Jaclyn guide projects from early planning through installation and long-term support — creating homes where technology feels effortless and beautifully integrated.

Chase Murphy
Chief Technology Officer
Chase Murphy is Chief Technology Officer at Media Systems, bringing more than two decades of hands-on AV experience to every project the company takes on. He got his start in custom AV in 2003 and has spent the years since mastering the craft, holding Crestron's Gold Master Certified Programmer credential, the highest level of programming certification Crestron awards. Chase is known for his ability to solve the problems other programmers can't. When a system misbehaves in ways that defy the usual playbook, he's the one who digs in, traces the issue to its root, and engineers a fix, often finding creative solutions that go beyond standard troubleshooting. He also leads the technology and infrastructure behind Media Systems itself, including the custom software tools that help the team work smarter and serve clients faster. Outside the office, Chase spends his free time coaching his daughters' softball teams, bringing the same patience and attention to detail to the field that he brings to every system he programs.
Brad Kelly
Manager of Field Operations
Brad Kelly is the Manager of Field Operations at Media Systems, bringing more than 15 years of experience in the AV industry. Specializing in Crestron control systems and network infrastructure, Brad began his career pulling wire in the field before advancing to Lead Installer, Project Manager, and ultimately his current leadership role. Since joining Media Systems in 2017, he has helped deliver projects ranging from small conference rooms and commercial facilities to luxury homes exceeding 20,000 square feet. His hands-on experience, technical expertise, and commitment to quality have earned the trust of both clients and colleagues. Outside of work, Brad enjoys spending time with his wife, Melanie, and their five children, riding motorcycles, and 3D printing.
Krystal Finch
Residential Technology & Experience Designer
Krystal Finch is a Residential Technology & Experience Designer at Media Systems. Since entering the custom integration industry in 2019, she has blended her background in fashion and retail with a passion for technology to create homes that reflect the way her clients truly live. She enjoys collaborating with homeowners, builders, architects, and designers to create personalized solutions that enhance everyday life through thoughtful design and intuitive technology. Outside of work, Krystal enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids and has a lifelong love of music and dance. She believes the best homes aren't just beautifully designed; they're lived in, shared, and filled with moments worth remembering.

Billy Martin
Technician
Billy Martin has been a valued member of Media Systems since 2018, bringing more than 23 years of prior experience as an electrician to the team. His extensive hands-on background and decades of field experience have made him a trusted problem solver who thrives on finding practical solutions to complex challenges. Whether troubleshooting unexpected issues or adapting to unique project requirements, Billy has earned a reputation for being reliable, resourceful, and committed to getting the job done right. Outside of work, Billy enjoys spending time with his wife, Kristi, and their daughter, especially when they're hunting together and making the most of the outdoors.
Henry Rivera
Technician
Henry Rivera joined our team in February 2022 after working as an electrician for many years and earning his Master Electrician's License. He quickly picked up the residential technology industry and today serves as our primary service technician, handling most of our service calls. Henry programs URC remote control systems, configures Lutron and Crestron lighting, installs and configures residential networks, and troubleshoots a wide variety of smart home systems. He's always willing to take on something new and works hard to make sure our customers are taken care of. Outside of work, Henry enjoys spending time with his wife, Susie, and their two children, and loves to go fishing in his free time.
Emily Taylor
Technician
Emily Taylor joined our team in the fall of 2025 shortly after completing Houston Community College's Audio Visual Technology program. She came to us eager to learn and has quickly become an important part of the team, gaining hands-on experience with both new installations and service calls. Working in the field has given Emily a strong understanding of how integrated home technology systems are installed, programmed, and supported, along with a natural ability to connect with clients and keep them comfortable and informed. As she continues to grow with the company, her goal is to move into system design and sales, combining her technical knowledge with her passion for working with people.
Our Founder
Media Systems was founded in 1980 by Steve Driskell, whose early work in custom audio and video systems revealed a growing demand for more sophisticated home technology. Recognizing the opportunity, Steve set out to build a company focused on designing systems that combined performance, reliability, and thoughtful integration into the home.
As automation technology evolved, Steve became known for introducing advanced control systems that allowed lighting, audio, video, and other technologies to work together seamlessly. What began as functional automation gradually evolved into the elegant, integrated systems homeowners expect today — powerful technology that enhances daily living without drawing attention to itself.
Steve's commitment to thoughtful engineering, efficiency, and craftsmanship established the foundation of Media Systems. That philosophy continues to guide the company today as we design technology that works beautifully within the homes we serve.
